Why should I seek a Christian Education for my children?

The Bible tells us the education of a child rests upon the parents, not the State. Vanguard partners with the parents to give each child a Christ-centered education. Giving each student a foundation on God’s Word and Christian principles to equip each one to overcome the pressures of a secular world.

What grades are offered?

Vanguard will enroll K-6 for the 2023-24 school year.  Each year adding a grade for continuous enrollment for our current students.  Students must be 5 by September 1 of the current school year and potty trained to enroll for Kindergarten.

How many can Vanguard enroll?

For our first year we can accommodate a maximum of 90 students.   Classes will be conducted schoolroom style i.e., K, 1-2, 3-4, 5-6.  If enrollment numbers exceed classroom limits, classes will be split as needed.

Can anyone enroll?

Vanguard is an “evangelistic” Christian School. We do not “require” a Christian home or church attendance but we will give daily Biblical instruction to students in cooperation with the parents. Vanguard does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex (male or female), disability, or age. Each student wishing to enroll must complete the enrollment process and agreement to our school constitution.  At this time, we do not offer a special education program.

Do you offer after school care?

Yes! Vanguard offers afterschool care for grades K-6. Application for after school care must be submitted before a student can participate. Find out more

Is Vanguard accredited?

We are becoming accredited though F.A.C.E (Foundation for American Christian Education).  Note: Kansas law exempts private/parochial schools from any requirement for accreditation. Schools become accredited at their discretion.

Are Vanguard teachers qualified?

Vanguard is a church-related Christian School which allows the freedom from state indoctrination and are not bound by state certification. Our teachers have a calling of ministry in the area of teaching and demonstrate an expertise to educate children.  Vanguard teachers are required to enroll in the Master teacher program through FACE and receive extensive training in the Principle Approach® throughout the year.

What if I cannot afford tuition?

We realize this is a significant financial commitment for some families. We encourage you to apply for the Forerunner Scholarship Program if the tuition is a financial burden for your family. Instructions for applying will be provided upon acceptance.

What is the Principle Approach®

The Principle Approach® is a philosophy of education, a method of teaching, and a curricular approach all in one. It places the Truth’s of God’s Word at the heart of each subject. The Principle Approach® is rich in early American Christian history upon which our nation was founded.

Do you use textbooks like government and other Christian schools?

Through the Principle Approach® method we use the Noah Plan curriculum guides as our main curriculum.  Textbooks or other supporting materials are used for skill-oriented subjects or resources.  Students and teachers develop notebooks that become the primary teaching-learning tool. The notebooks create a sense of ownership for long-term retention and application.
